This post covers the 2nd half of Kenny’s second tour (Jan 19th – Feb 8th 2009)
January 24th DDT Non-Fix - Kenny Omega & Kota Ibushi vs HARASHIMA & Touru Owashi
Finally a match that we can watch! It’s on DDT universe here!

Kenny and Ibushi get stepped on a lot and do all their special moves. The sound the crowd makes when they hit the golden shower is wild.

The post-match:

Ibushi: "Thank you very much! I am really happy to win with Kenny! I am very happy to win the belts with Kenny."
Kenny: "Everyone, Thank you for coming!"*
Ibushi: "But I have one more belt I want ... Takagi-san please come out"
[Sanshiro Takagi appears.]
Takagi: "Is this the belt you want?"
Ibushi: "That's right, let me challenge for that belt."
Takagi: "Okay. Korakuen KO - D open weight championship, with you ..."
[... suddenly "GUN CONTROL" plays... The legendary unit crusher Yahagi Yoshiaki appears! ... but he is dragged out by the rest of the locker room before he can enter the ring. Everyone watches confused and then carries on with what they were doing.]
Takagi: "...... It was where I broke the DDT before I was doing Ryōgoku...Today a lot of people went to challenge this belt, but I was glad that you put your name forward.. ... If you want to get crushed! 2/22 Korakuen, KO – D I will do it with you! "
[Sanshiro Takagi leaves.]
Ibushi: "Er well...I am happy that I could get Kenny and the belt. ... I'd like to challenge for the singles belt and win in February. Well... Kenny is always the guy so…"[Hands Kenny the mic]
This part is cute and the flow of it gets lost in transcription so I’m just gonna include a cheeky video clip of the very last bit.

Post-match comments:
Kenny Omega: "I am surprised myself at being a tag champion with Ibushi, but I am really happy. I think this is the result of us fighting with full power. We will continue to defend ourselves together as two people. Finally, a word, Ina bauer!"
Kota Ibushi: "(About the two collaborative moves) I practiced with Kenny at the secret base OPG (We · Pro Wrestling · Guden) Dojo. The new technique Golden Shower (Double Phoenix Splash) The game was really fun and crazy. In the second half it is perfectly switched on. I entered at Shin-kiba since the road match with Kenny. (When asked about the secret of godly collaborative technique) It is going to the arcade a lot. Your breath is perfect now!"
(I cleaned up what I understood here and abandoned what I couldn’t to google translate. If that wasn’t already obvious.)
January 25th Hard Hit
If Muscle House and New Beijing Wrestling were sillier, more story-based shows, the Hard Hit brand seems to have been the opposite. By the looks of the show it presented itself more like a series of serious sporting bouts. Kenny has a match against Masanori Ishikura, and Ibushi fights Isami Kodaka.

They both win. Even though it's Hard Hit it's still DDT and Ibushi does some comedy with a bag of toilet paper at the end of the show.

They mess around outside afterwards and Griffon591 takes these pictures:

January 27th - Recent status of Kenny Omega Night
Nakazawa: "The main event on that day [the 24th] was amazing .... Golden shower (lol) developed at OPG was perfectly decided. Kenny says, "Golden Shower" was named because "Ibushi is a golden star, and the shower comes down from the top, and as it is a technique that two people will come down from heaven at the same time." ...Well let 's leave it at that. (Lol)
Well, today I went with Kenny to Mid Breath, to Ikebukuro's flattering bar, then to Ibushi-san's drop kick. I decided to consult with Ibushi-san, but the auction items that we will do at tomorrow's Kenny Omega night are amazing! Girls make a tag team in pairs to enter the auction, but what a product is a double date with Kenny & Ibushi! This auction is exclusively for ladies, are lots of women awaiting it? We are waiting for your participation. Oh, of course, men can also join Kenny night themselves, so men are also waiting. Games tournaments using Wii are planned, and I think that Kenny original cocktails and others will also come out!
Oh, I'm going to a drop kick as an interpreter, thank you. Do not worry about going on a date. (Lol) The event is tomorrow, I guess it's already today but from 7 o'clock! Please come early so as not to be late."
January 28th - Kenny Omega Night 2

The original cocktails offered this time were called the Canadian Waffle and the Canadian Pancake. The Canadian waffle contained Kahlua, maple syrup and a strawberry. They ran out of Kahlua pretty early on.

DSL came, and everyone watched their match, ‘Takashimadaira 9 chome pro-wrestling’ (So there MUST be a video and I want it desperately!)

They have a tournament on the wii playing Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes. Two women win the guests tournament and go against final boss Kenny. (They win) There’s some stipulation meaning Abe and Michael will strip if Kenny loses (or loses in a particular way?) Michael fulfilled his end (before the game even finished?)

At this point I think it may be worth introducing Yukihiro Abe (AKA:the Geek Wrestler) a little more formally as he’s going to pop up again in this and future posts. He’s this really sweet little nerd who loves Evangelion. He posts about wrestling on his blog but much much more about collecting anime merchandise. He left DDT completely in 2010 and went to an even more obscure promotion called ‘Pro Wrestling Secret Base’ although he’s come back for matches in DDT since then. He’s recognizable by his ring gear themed after EVA-01 and frequent cosplay.

They hold the auction for the double date with Kenny and Ibushi. It starts at 100 yen and steadily rises. But the store manager Daichi Kakimoto drives the price up to 250,000 yen (because he has access to the shop money I think) and wins it.
There was a show the same night at Shinjuku Face, not DDT but a different promotion called HEARTLINE. Griffon591 attended and then rushed over to Dropkick so they could go to Kenny Omega night too. Ibushi was in the main event of the show which explains why he didn’t make it to dropkick that night.
January 30th - Internationalization+Kenny eats soba

Kenny goes to Tanomusaku Toba's kickboxing practice and they go out to eat afterwards.
Toba: "Japan food Daijobu?"
Kenny: "High! Natto, Miso Soup, Daijobu Desu!"
"So we went to Ootoya.
Kenny ordered a soba set.
I have reconfirmed one thing here.
A foreigner who tries hard to use chopsticks to eat soba is funny to watch.
Is it just me?"
January 31st - Ibushi's DropKick
This wasn't a special event, just a night that Ibushi was working behind the bar.
I found a lot of this particularly difficult to translate so I’m just going stay safely vague on it. The writer talks to Ibushi about the name of the ‘Golden Shower’ regarding its dirtiness; a match at the Ironworks that I can’t find anything about; and Kota wanting to work with Kaiju Big Battel.

“Ibushi and Kenny were talking, Ibushi was speaking Japanese and Kenny in English. I heard it in Japanese / English, but surely these two people must be talking on radio waves.”
Abe: "Mr. Ibushi worked at his own pace. However, the cocktail making was a mess."
February 3rd An announcement and a recent diary about the Ryōkoku tournament

Nakazawa: "Well, the day-to-day of interpreting continues. Going to greet someone who is looking after Kenny, supporting Kenny Omega Night at Drop Kick, going as an interpreter for a weekly professional wrestling Kenny & Ibushi interview. Today is a fight in Nagoya, I guided him to Shinagawa to get on the Shinkansen.
Without these opportunities it is quite easy not use English, so it is a nice stimulation. I also want to go to the United States soon, so I have to use it not to forget English. Of course, I have purely enjoyed more opportunities to play with Kenny and Ibushi.
The picture is of new tag champions that are being photographed for weekly wrestling at the OPG Dojo. It was a ridiculous interview. I wonder if it will appear in the issue tomorrow? By the way, the pose of fusion was in vain. (Lol)
It is BOYS at Shinkiba tomorrow. Well I will not be in it, but I will pick Kenny up in Tokyo anyway and I will go and watch the show!"
This is the issue of the magazine with the interview in it that Michael mentions, and I'm pretty sure this is the one where they give their team name as the Golden Lovers.
I’ve tried to track down the interview or an account of its content by Kenny or someone else who at least read it. However, I can only find the information 3rd or 4th hand at best which is frustrating. The story is that they were called the ‘Golden Twins/brothers’ and Kenny said they were the ‘Golden Lovers’ instead.

*EDIT 14/04/19: This story was recently told by Ibushi himself in the 'Omega Man: A Wrestling Love Story' documentary.
As mentioned by Michael in the post above, Kenny has an interesting match
in a pro-wrestling bar called Sportiva Arena in Nagoya against Shigehiro Irie.
They play Street Fighter during the match, Irie sucks a weapon out of Kenny’s hands with a vacuum cleaner and they do this kind of see-saw spot with a table where Irie lands on it and it flips up and smacks Kenny in the chin.

Kenny wins but is then attacked by a monster. He tries to Hadouken it but it doesn’t work. He asks the fans to lend him their power, they do and everyone throws beans at the monster and chants “Oniwa-soto and Fukuwa-uchi” ("Out the evils; In Good Fortune") a Japanese new year ritual, which happens on February 3rd to drive demons away.

He plays Street Fighter with fans afterwards.

February 4th - BOYS
BOYS was a show with the aim of attracting female customers specifically. The ticket price for women was 1000 yen and 3000 yen for men. The attendance was reported as: 182 women and 34 men.
The show begins with everyone coming out in demon costumes to do some comedy.

Kenny is especially demon-like apparently because he looks like the thunder gods on Japanese comedy show 'Drif LOL'

(Which, yeah okay fair enough)
Kenny:"Well, it's my first time at BOYS. Thank you!"*
("All Japanese is fluent. Moreover, it’s Ibushi’s favourite phrase."- Extreme party)
Etajima:"Does Kenny know Setsubun?"
Kenny: "High! Let's ... Oniha ... Soto, Fukuha ...... Uchi!"(Kenny starts throwing beans at the crowd.)
Etajima "He doesn’t realise he’s a demon himself! Enjoy Japan as much as you want!"
Kenny has a singles match against Madoka.

He wins but then Etajima comes to the ring and announces that as usual, the winner of the main event will now sing karaoke. Everyone looks at Kenny.

Kenny panics that he doesn’t know Japanese and begs Yukihiro Abe for help. They sing the Dragon Ball Z opening as a duet.

That’s it for this tour!
Kenny, Ibushi, Michael and Matsui go out to Ikkeburro again on the 6th of February and on the 7th, Kenny, Takagi and Michael get invited to a host club by DDT wrestler and professional host Rion Mizuki for his birthday event.

Takagi:"To what mind the host club is my first time. And naturally for the first time Kenny was sitting quietly ... However, master of the world, Nakazawa Michael was shirtless though no one told him to ...I did not get it (laugh)."
Kenny leaves Japan on the 8th of February.
*Side note: In the marked places I’ve translated Kenny’s Japanese as he means to say it. However, it’s a demon (heh) of a task compared to everything else. This is because the bloggers all write out what he says phonetically, including the mispronunciations. They all think the way he talks is adorable, but it makes it so difficult to google translate!
I’m really excited to recap the May 2009 tour, there is a lot of cute stuff! Enjoy the holidays!
